OTR Microwave Repair
Over-the-range (OTR) microwaves combine high-voltage components with cabinet-mounted installations. We safely diagnose heating, control, and interlock faults while protecting surrounding cabinetry and venting.
You’ll get an upfront diagnosis before any work, clear pricing, and a warranty on parts & labor. We also verify venting performance after repairs on over-the-range units.
Common issues we fix
- Not heating (magnetron / HV circuit)
- Sparking / arcing (waveguide cover / rack / cavity paint)
- Dead display or keypad unresponsive
- Turntable not rotating or noisy
- Door switch / interlock errors
- Burning smell or loud humming
Safety notes & quick checks
- If you see sparks, smell burning, or hear a loud hum, stop and unplug the microwave.
- Never open the cabinet/body — the HV capacitor can retain a dangerous charge even when unplugged.
- Check the door closes firmly; debris on the latch area can trigger interlock faults.
- Control glitches? Try a 2-minute power reset at the breaker, then test with a microwave-safe cup of water.
OTR units are heavy and mounted to cabinetry — we handle bracket removal/ re-mounting and reseal the vent as needed.
